WHAT IS SmartCell™?
SmartCell™ is a multi-purpose, fully programmable robotic cell, able to replace manual manipulations of biological and chemical substances by a completely automated and
programmable system, able to replicate many activities normally performed in chemistry, pharmacy, and biology laboratories such as: transfer of substances and samples, precision weighing, precision dosing (both liquids and powders), mixing of solutions, formulation of culture media, compounding of patient-specific drugs, and much more...

HOW SmartCell™ WORKS.
SmartCell™ provides a sterile and configurable working in environment equipped with:
• a robotic arm (with integrated dosing system)
• up to two precision balances
• up to four programmable syringe pumps
• up to two programmable shakers/mixers
• a laminar-flow sterile air circulation (ISO 5)
• racks for vials, tubes, plates, beakers, etc.
Using a user-friendly, action-based programming language, the cell and its robotic arm can be freely programmed in order to perform the sequence of actions required for the implementation of a specific process.

TOTAL FLEXIBILITY
For example, when SmartCell™ is configured for the production of culture media, the robot weighs all components (powders and liquids), transferring them from source containers to the final solution, dosing them with accuracy better than 1%. The final solution is then filter-sterilized and automatically fractioned in vials.
Barcode labels and a detailed formulation reports are generated for lot tracing and QA purposes.
Other sequences for different applications can be easily programmed to fit virtually unlimited processes.

CONTROL AND

laboratory network via cable and wifi.
Remote access through G3 / G4
network is also supported.

MANAGING SOFTWARE
The managing software of SmartCell™ provides a user friendly interface, supporting both traditional mouse/keyboard configurations and advanced touch-screen devices.
Programming and configuring a specific manipulation process is very simple and
can be done just creating a sequence of "human action" instructions (e.g.: take vial
#N, weigh vial, dose X ml, dilute with Y ml of water, shake for Z seconds, etc.).
SmartCell™ will automatically replicate the sequence in its protected and sterile
environment, with cleaness and accuracy

Endless configurations for multiple tasks SmartCell™ is the perfect solution for repetitive processing of batches composed by multiple items (e.g.: predilution of samples, pre-treatment of specimens, compounding of personal drugs, etc.).
SmartCell™ can also be used for automatically handling specific operations on single samples, in all cases where high accuracy and repeatability of the processing steps
are required.

Its multi-purpose, automated working cell is fully programmable and the sequence of required operations can be modified in real-time.
Just loading a configuration file from the database, SmartCell™ can be settled for a
completely different task, according to the specific needs of your laboratory.
